Counter Tobacco Podcast

Oct 10, 2018

On June 14, 2018, Counter Tools and CounterTobacco.org held their 4th quarterly webinar. The webinar covered the intersection of point-of-sale tobacco and the military, with Amanda Kong, a UNC researcher and doctoral student, presenting her team's findings pertaining to the pricing of tobacco products on Air Force bases. Following the webinar, Counter Tobacco.org had the privilege of talking to Dr. Melissa Little, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia. Dr. Little’s work centers around military populations and she is currently the head of a tobacco intervention development and evaluation at Lackland AFP for Air Force Technical Trainees. While Dr. Little was unable to attend the webinar, we were able to ask her a few questions for the Counter Tobacco podcast. We hope you enjoy. Study in Question: Kong, A. Y., Golden, S. D., Myers, A. E., Little, M. A., Klesges, R., Talcott, W., ... Ribisl, K. M. (Accepted/In press).
